Supervisor of Elections

Bobby Beasley was born in Montgomery, Alabama a LONG time ago.  His family moved to Walton County, FL in 1958.  Bobby graduated from Walton High School , Pensacola Junior College and attended the University of West Florida .  He married the incomparable Melissa Infinger Beasley.  They have two sons, Bryan of DeFuniak Springs, FL and Bo of New York, NY.  Melissa was the Supervisor of Elections in Walton County from 1999 until her untimely death in 2003.  Bobby was appointed to finish her term on November 10, 2003 by Governor Bush.  He was elected in 2004 and re-elected in 2006.  He is a member of the First United Methodist Church in DeFuniak Springs, and serves on the administrative board.  He is a certified Supervisor of Elections, and serves on the board of directors of the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections as well as other committees in the organization.  He is a team captain for Relay-for-Life and held the title for the fastest derby car two years in a row being nudged out in 2006 by the First Baptist Church team after helping them in the design of their car.  Bobby is active in the Kiwanis Club as well as many other civic organizations.  He is in the mentoring program for the local high school.  When not working, Bobby enjoys hunting, fishing, golf and collegiate sports.

A Message From Bobby Beasley
I have found over many years of working with the public, owning a business and serving as Walton County Supervisor of Elections that common sense and hard work will usually get the job done.  This does not mean that honesty and doing the right thing at all times, are not just as important.  Surrounding yourself with good people and treating them right is also very important.  Trust and mutual respect is mandatory in successful operations of any organization.  We have a hard working staff, over 200 dedicated Poll Workers, an efficient Canvassing Board, and the Walton County Voters do a tremendous job in every election.  As Supervisor of Elections, I promise to never compromise integrity or principles the public expects of an elected official.  Constitutional Officers are sworn to support, protect and defend the Constitution of the Government of the United States and of the State of Florida .  Strict laws, guidelines and security procedures must be followed to insure fair elections.  This is where we as voters have a great deal of responsibility, almost everything we do is a reflection of the people elected to office; they create the laws and regulations of everyday life.  You can make a difference by knowing candidates, issues and participating in government.  Remember that "your vote is your voice" to insure a bright future for yourself, your children, and grandchildren.  I believe in fair, honest elections where every vote is counted correctly and considered sacred.  I believe in Freedom, and most people know what it is to live the American Dream and keep those dreams alive.  It was an honor to work almost six years as a volunteer with my beautiful wife, Melissa Beasley, (Walton County SOE, 1998-2003) with Walton County Elections.  That experience along with the experience and training as Supervisor of Elections has proved invaluable in running accurate, honest and problem free elections in Walton County .  The AccuVote Optical Scan and TSX Touch Screen Voting Systems are state of the art and exceedingly accurate in Walton County Elections.  It is an honor to work hard and serve as your Walton County Supervisor of Elections.  Remember to Vote! Democracy works best when everyone participates in it!

 Sincerely,

  Bobby Beasley
