The First Vote program is based on F.S. 97.0583.  This statute states that each student enrolled in a qualifying educational institution shall have the opportunity to register to vote or to update a voter registration record on each campus at least once a year. 

To meet these requirements, our office does several activities.  We provide registration forms, educational brochures, and contact information at each qualifying educational institution in Walton County.  Also, every year, we hold a registration drive at the high schools.  Every eligible student is given the opportunity to register to vote for the first time or given the opportunity to update their registration.  Presentations about the voting process, veterans, and the right to vote are also available.
